Terms & Conditions

The flowing terms & conditions are adopted by all customers and clients of Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) upon booking and will apply to all taxis/minicabs as arranged on the customer’s behalf through Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton).

Definitions

PHV is defined as “Private Hire Vehicle” and is used interchangeably with “Taxi” and relates to a licensed minicab.

HV is defined as “Hackney Vehicle” and is used interchangeably with “Taxi” and relates to a licensed hackney taxi.

Fixed pricing is defined as a pre-agreed price for a specific journey and vehicle type, subject to stated terms and conditions.

Bookings

All taxi requests through Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. We will send the requested vehicle type to meet you at the pre-defined pick-up points, according to the time specified on your booking. The booking details you have provided will be sent to the drivers by mobile phone or via our office over the radio. All bookings include a standard 5-minute waiting time; thereafter all bookings are subject to waiting time charges depending on vehicle type. All queries should be made at the time of booking so as to avoid any subsequent disagreements.

Airport transfer

All airport transfer requests through Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) must be booked in advance and are subject to availability. We will send the requested vehicle type to meet you at the pre-defined pick-up points, according to the time specified on your booking. The booking details you have provided will be sent to the drivers by mobile phone or via the control office over the radio. All airport pickups include “meet & greet” within the arrival terminal and a standard 30-minute waiting time; thereafter all bookings are subject to waiting time charges dependant on vehicle type. Airport pickups are subject to vehicle parking charges and will be charged accordingly. All airport pickups must be paid in advance in full prior to vehicle dispatch. All queries should be made at the time of booking so as to avoid any subsequent disagreements.

Fixed pricing agreement

A fixed price may be offered subject to availability for particular journeys, charges relate to the vehicle type and travelling distance. Fixed prices are not charged in accordance with out standard metered tariffs and must be agreed at the time of booking so as to avoid any subsequent disagreements. Fixed priced journeys must not deviate from the driver’s chosen route; any deviation could result in the journey reverting to a fare decided by consultation with Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton). Such consultation with Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) will decide on any further charges according to any additional mileage and delay caused by the passenger or by the prevailing traffic conditions as a result of deviations.

Luggage and child-seat arrangements

We assume that each passenger will have no more than 1 medium suitcase and 1 piece of hand luggage 56 cm (H) * 45 cm (W) * 25 cm (D) (approximately 22 inches x 17.5 inches x 9.85 inches), Additional luggage requirements must be communicated at the time of booking so as to ascertain a suitable vehicle type and avoid any subsequent disagreements. Any luggage that a PHV or HV cannot accommodate is the responsibility of the passenger. Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) does not provide child-seats, although passengers can provide their own and use them at their own responsibility.

Young passengers

In accordance with national guidelines (www.gov.uk/child-car-seats-the-rules/when-a-child-can-travel-without-a-car-seat), children under 3 years old must only travel in a rear seat with the correct child restraint and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Children older than 3 but younger than 13 must only travel in a rear seat, wearing either a seatbelt or correct child restraint. Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) have a duty to safeguard young or vulnerable passengers, arrangements for children travelling without a parent or guardian must be communicated at the time of booking, failure to do so could result in denial of service.

Unforeseen circumstances

Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) cannot be held responsible for any loss financial, professional, missed connection times, flights, trains due to the PHV or HV not arriving at the pick-up points at the booked time due to unforeseen circumstances, including; adverse weather, traffic conditions, road traffic accidents or road closures or being given the wrong booking information. However, subject to status, Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) when possible will seek to limit any loss and may provide additional travel arrangements or a refund, subject to stated terms and conditions.

Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellations must be communicated directly to Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) at the earliest possible opportunity and not through third parties, including taxi drivers. If a booking is not cancelled and a driver arrives at a pickup point, a charge may be incurred subject to consultation with the driver. A full refund will be given for journeys paid in advance provided that the cancellation is processed at least six hours before the booking is due to take place. Cancellations within six hours of a booking will not be refunded. All refund requests must be communicated directly to Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) at the earliest possible opportunity and not through third parties, including taxi drivers. Refunds due to you for cancellations or complaints will be made to the card used to make the original payment within 5 business days (business days being Monday to Friday).

Card payments

There are no additional charges associated with using a debit, credit or smart payment service (Apple, Google pay etc.).

Fouling or damage of Vehicles

Any fouling of the PHV or HV by any passenger will result in a charge of a minimum of £50.00, depending on the severity of the fouling. Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton) and subsequent self-employed drivers will prosecute any person who causes damage to any vehicle booked through or arranged through Tic Tak Taxis (Buxton).

Right of refusal

The driver has the right to refuse any passenger that they suspect to be acting unlawful or pose a threat to him/herself or vehicle.
